5.) A teacher develops and applies foundational knowledge about First Nations, Métis and Inuit for the benefit of all students.

"Sarah taught social studies therefore was able to work closely with First Nations outcomes. She incorporated videos on Metis and the role of women in the society, the buffalo hunt and artifacts. She took the opportunity to read the story “The Secret of Your Name" – by David Bouchard, and held a discussion on the loss of identity.
