Teaching Health & Computers
Although teaching computers and health focused more on a pre-made unit, entitled Power4Bones, which educated about bone health, I still had to bring creativity and excitement to the material, and I feel as though I succeeded. For example, pictured to the right is a review activity, which highlights student learning following the completion of the Power4Bones Unit. I also included some samples of student made Power4Bones Public Service announcements that were very informative.
In addition to the Power4Bones Unit, I also got the opportunity to teach about mental health. The intent of this series was to use the skills of language, such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing, to address important ideas about positive mental health. It was meant to accentuate that the mental health of children is critical to their social and emotional development, but it also plays an important role in their success at school.
Students will develop effective interpersonal skills that demonstrate responsibility, respect and caring in order to establish and maintain healthy interactions.
