PSII Goals

I feel that I was able to meet goal #1 for the following reasons: I have a completed chart of grades for each student, and despite Lent celebrations , PD days and other interruptions I was able to ensure that students in both classes were given the same material. In addition, my ability to meet this goal was evidenced in my summative evaluation comments which states "...the practicum for Sarah provided her with the opportunity to experience a wide diversity of skills and abilities among her students. She was able to understand that the needs of student can vary from minimal to extraordinary. Sarah also showed an understanding that her expectations need to be realistic to each student's abilities."

Professional Goal #1

Organization- I hope to keep comprehensive records for both grade six classes and make adjustments to lessons accordingly, because both classes present varying skill levels. However, I want to make sure that the same content is covered for both classes in each week. 

1 Action statement: I will plan ahead and consult with my TA and UC to ensure that both grade six classes are getting exactly what they need to support their learning (even if this means making adjustments for specific students)

I feel that I was able to meet goal #2 to a degree, although I know there are areas for improvement. However, I think those improvements will come with experience and familiarity with curriculum (I hope to better align my activities with curricular outcomes). However, I do think that the variety of activities that I used throughout this unit promoted student engagement and a variety of products of learning were produced. Moreover,  feedback from my summative assessment comments indicates the following: "...she was able to use a wide variety of methods to accomplish her objectives. She was able to modify assignments for those that required it."

Professional Goal #2

Evaluation- I hope to ensure that my unique and creative learning activities link explicitly to curricular outcomes (always ensuring that there is a purposeful link to curriculum, not just to student engagement) and that students can present a variety of products of learning that can be assessed (mostly formatively for this unit)

2 Action statement: I will offer students opportunities to produce multiple products of learning (in various formats from simplistic to more complex)
